I JUST REACHED MY 40s AND I CAN DO MUCH MORE!
I'm blessed, are you?
I grew up in a small city in the South of Brazil, a German settlement established by immigrants who arrived in the 1800s. My dad’s family is a mix of German and Dutch heritage, a history we uncovered thanks to my younger brother and older sister, both of whom are historians and tracked our family’s roots. Yes, I’m the only designer in the family, even though I love history; and I can’t forget to mention the Italian energy from my mum’s side of the family. Italians also migrated to Brazil, and trust me, there’s delicious wine in the South of Brazil owing to the Italians.
I feel like I’m a mix of cultures— something Brazil is famous for, and that I’m so proud of. Maybe that’s the reason I feel so at home in London; the multicultural opportunities here are endless. I’ve had an experience living in the USA, Italy, and London when I was younger. I returned to Brazil but always wanted to come back, it eventually happened when I was in my 30’s, and decided out of the blue, leave my job, my carrier, family, and friends, and move back to London. Here I am! Since I moved to London, I haven’t worked in design anymore, I’m now in marketing for a multinational company.
Lately, though, I’ve been missing design and the need to express my creativity, so here we go, this is my new project…
My personal project— an experimental, intuitive, adventurous creative journey; an authentic expression of my perceptions about design, materials, and lifestyle.
Brazilian product designer living in London; my essence is imprinted in each piece of my work, the warm energy, vibrancy; the beauty of the diversity is ever-present in my designs. I like bringing different materials and work together with designers from Brazil, infusing it with the spirit of London, the urban lifestyle, the city timeless energy.
I love art, design, colours, and of course, bags!
Experimenting, discovering, and re-signifying, all my bags are designed and handmade by my; an authorial project— experimenting different materials, colours and combinations. I like observing each detail, embracing what is different and unique. With a conscious approach to design, the textile I use to produce my bags comes from the interior design and fashion industry "waste", the upcycling offers unique design opportunities while enhances the original material resulting in exclusive bags— an opportunity to manifesting authenticity and personality.
