Camino

About the Journey...

Camino

In 2018, I did the 'Camino de Santiago' (the Way of St. James), a pilgrimage route. I walked from southern France to Santiago de Compostela in Spain, spending 27 days walking more than 800 km. I met people from all over the world. During this journey, which I called a walking meditation, I learned a few things that I would like to share here. For those who have done the Camino, it may resonate; for those who haven't, I would highly recommend it. It is an incredible journey of self-discovery and understanding of the universe and the nature of life.

The advice I received:

Don’t do more than you can; respect your body and your limits. Take good care of your feet. And don’t forget to breathe. 😉

What did I have learned from the journey:

-Follow the signs, your intuition, and your heart. ❤️

-Carry only the weight you can handle—both in your backpack and in your heart.

-Take care of what is truly necessary; the rest, you can leave along the way.

-Sometimes, the journey is difficult but try to appreciate the scenery—nature is incredible.

-Physical pain can be a reflection of the pain in your soul.

-Some things and people you will lose along the way; it’s hard, but you must accept it.

-Some things and people you will need to leave behind—and that can be good for you.

-Walk alongside those who share your rhythm and your goals.

-Everyone has their own pace and their own time—RESPECT IT!

-Being alone can be one of the best things you do for yourself, but being with friends is amazing!

-Before trying to help others, take care of yourself.

-You can never fully understand someone else’s pain, so RESPECT it—and focus more on what you feel.

-There are incredible people and opportunities in this world—stay open, and they will come to you.

-You may try searching outside, but the answers are within you. Simple as that. 😉

I'm just reviewing my Caminho photos and decided to add more pictures here to capture that magical moment when I realized the essentials—sleep, eat, a good wine please :), nature, and simply keep going!

xoxo
